| The picture on the right... I was standing on a wooden platform that goes out into a stand of mangrove trees and my partner spotted the spider on some roots just below the platform. It doesn't look so bad in this picture, but that spider was almost as big as my fist. (shudder) |

We found the alligator lurking among the mangrove trees. We were standing just a few feet away from him! He went on past us and I got in the car really fast!!! |
